Budget friendly DIY decorating: Home projects that save money

by Jonathan Maines 12/22/2024

For those who enjoy DIY decorating, home design enhancements don’t have to break the bank. However, even when doing your projects to create unique home decor, there are ways you can save money and time. Beautify your home with ease, finesse and without breaking the bank:

DIY wallpaper art

DIY artwork can spruce up a blank wall with little to no effort, and wallpaper only makes it easier. With so many vibrant and exciting patterns, prints and motifs available, you can turn a simple piece of wallpaper into wall art worthy of a gallery wall by simply cutting it to the desired size.

In fact, you can create a gallery wall out of nearly anything – all you need is a little creativity and some hot glue. Mount wallpaper pieces, craft paper scraps or photos to sturdy card stock and arrange them to create a low-cost personal gallery.

Multipurpose nook

Add charm to your home and morning routine by creating a multipurpose coffee nook. Set up your tea, coffee or beverage accessories and add-ons with a decorative tray and built-in shelving for storage. Add extra functionality by decorating the space with a cork reminder board or chalkboard wall calendar.

If you don’t have the perfect spot to build a multipurpose nook, you can try using room dividers as an alternative. Other fun options include café tables or bar carts for storage and style.

DIY home decor ideas don’t need to be expensive. With the right planning and use of resources, you can turn any blank canvas or wall into an easy DIY project.
