Hi there,

In a time of social isolation, I stand more grateful than ever for digital platforms that allow us to connect with one another. Less than a month ago, I was encouraged to launch the first of my monthly newsletters. My hope for this campaign is to connect with clients, while providing them with a simple tool for navigating the real estate season at hand.

The infographic below is from the Naples Board of Realtors (NABOR). I found it to be an excellent resource for comparing the Naples real estate activity of January 2019 to January 2020.

Why is this important? As more data is released over the next 12 months, we will begin to see the impact of COVID-19 on the real estate market. Generally speaking, changes in the real estate market fluctuate much slower than those in the stock market. Therefore, if the virus is brought under control during this next fiscal quarter, it is likely that the housing market will dodge any large, adverse effect. At this present time, most buyers have placed holds on purchasing ventures, many sellers are uncomfortable with unknown individuals touring their residences/properties. The aforementioned combination will inevitably reduce the number of single family homes and condominiums sold thus to some effect, reducing overall housing prices. How far prices may be driven down? This is anyone’s guess.

As this quarter comes to a close, a cloud of uncertainty looms over many across the globe. While this may be true, I wanted to remind you that I am here as a resource.
